EXPERIENCE CONTEMPORARY INDONESIA, MADE BY ARTISANS
Thanks to specially commissioned modern Indonesian art, the well-trained team and personalised in-room check-in, a stay in one of Katamama’s 57 generously-sized suites, is both familial and thought-provoking. Every detail of our Bali design hotel is handmade or purposefully picked to reflect the remarkable crafts and traditions of Indonesia — in a modern way. Our cultural programming, which spans wellness, art, mixology, music and nature, complements our in-house recreation features, a 24-hour gym, island-inspired spa, tropical garden and pool and open-air bar. Beyond our boutique hotel’s red bricks, explore rugged beaches, boutique shopping and a thriving restaurant scene — just ask our cultural concierges for insider tips.
Set in the hotel’s tropical garden, our 130 sq m swimming pool is open from 7am until 7pm, exclusively for hotel guests. Surrounded by asam trees, coconut palms, frangipani bushes and comfortable loungers, the pool is decked with Ironwood and finished with locally made natural light green Batu Sukabumi tiles.
All those under 16 years old must be supervised by an adult.
Find our well-equipped gym on the first floor, a few steps down from the pool. Open 24/7, gym features include treadmills, elliptical trainers, recumbent bike, TRX sets and weight training equipment. Fresh towels and water are provided and a personal trainer is available upon request.
“Each suite features hand-crafted carpentry, carved locally in Bali.”
Carina, Emily and Wahyu are Katamama’s cultural concierges–the welcoming faces that greet you, the custodians of the hotel’s cultural programme and our ‘island insiders’.
From designer boutiques, beachside brunch spots and speakeasies to ancient rice terraces and rare traditional ceremonies, their tip-offs will ensure you get the most out of your visit to the Island of the Gods.
Jamu, Indonesia’s traditional herbal remedies, inspires our range of evocative wellbeing treatments at Nila Spa. Our therapists use trusted healing techniques based on the beauty regimes of Javanese princesses of yore. Oils are infused with Balinese flowers, fruits and spices, including turmeric, jasmine, coffee and ginger, leaving you smelling sweet, feeling calm and looking fresh.
Amphitheatre-like, the ocean-facing Potato Head Beach Club is Bali’s iconic sunset venue. Known worldwide for hosting dynamic music festivals and cross-cultural events, the space is home to two restaurants, three bars, an infinity pool and an expansive lawn. Our guests receive priority daybed bookings for Potato Head, and can enter the Beach Club via an exclusive overhead walkway from Katamama.
Akademi ‘centre of mixology’ was created by award-winning mixologist Dre Masso. Located in Katamama’s lobby, Akademi acts as a hub for the world’s most celebrated and innovative mixologists. These drinks experts host the Akademi programmes, schooling up-and-coming bartenders to be world-class. Akademi champions the study and use of local and seasonal produce whilst promoting the root to flower concept.

Escalier is a multi-brand store representing some of Europe and Japan’s finest progressive designers with the likes of Undercover, Maison Kitsune, Comme des Garcons and Jacquemus.
Their unique location at Potato Head Beach Club combined with its lifestyle-focused curation places Escalier as one of Asia’s premier boutique.
Out of the ordinary ingredients and tribal cooking techniques define Kaum, our authentic Indonesian eatery housed on the first floor of Potato Head Beach Club. Traditional cooking from Bali, Java, Sulawesi, Maluku and beyond have inspired much of the menu and produce is sourced from responsible, small-scale farmers from within the region. Long, communal tables are balanced with more intimate seating and meals are presented ‘family-style,’ to share in the original way of Indonesia’s villages.
Canaan is a dwelling place for a sustainable life, a gallery and retail space with a strong emphasis on promoting traditional Indonesian products. Local artisans, craftspeople and creative individuals showcase simple luxury through high quality, hand-made products with innovative and original designs.
